A product by Merial, Frontline Plus Flea and Tick Treatment for Dogs is a fast-acting, long-lasting and waterproof flea and tick protection proven to kill fleas, flea eggs, lice and ticks including those that may transmit Lyme Disease. It has been formulated with the combination of two active ingredients for dogs eight weeks of age and older. The combination of two active ingredients - Fipronil and (S)Methoprene, magically work to kill fleas within 12 hours and ticks within 48 hours of application. Fipronil kills adult fleas and ticks, and the other chemical (S)-methoprene breaks flea life cycle by attacking flea eggs and larvae. It is an easy to use topical application that stores in the oil glands of pet's skin and works for 30 days. This product is available in four different pack sizes for small, medium, large and extra large dogs.

Directions
  • Weigh dog before treating with a Frontline Plus.
  • Make dog stand in a comfortable position to apply the solution.
  • On the back of your pet, part the fur between the shoulder blades where the dog cannot lick.
  • Remove pipette from the pack and break the seal. Place the tip of the pipette on the located spot without touching hair.
  • Squeeze and empty the entire content at the spot.
  • Be careful not to touch the area until the application is wet.
  • For small and medium dogs, apply at single spot.
  • For large dogs, apply at 4-5 spots starting from the place between the shoulder blades and reaching the base of the tail.
  • It is suitable for nursing, breeding and pregnant dogs.
  • For old, debilitated and pets on other medications, consult a veterinarian.

A. Frontline Plus for Dogs is totally safe for all sizes and breeds of dogs. When applied monthly, it protects against parasitic infestation without any harm to your dog.

Q. How does FRONTLINE Plus kill fleas and ticks?

A. Frontline Plus contains two strong ingredients. Fipronil – a potent adulticide and (S)-Methoprene – an insect growth regulator. Once the treatment given, the strong ingredient - Fipronil triggers the nerve cells of fleas and ticks resulting into paralysis of these pests. Eventually, these parasites are destroyed. The ingredient (S)-Methoprene inhibits the growth of flea eggs and larvae. Thus, these are eliminated.

Frontline Plus easily spreads through oil glands in your pet’s skin. Slowly, it is distributed continuously for one month to your pet’s hair and skin through hair follicles. It continuously works against fleas and ticks.

A. Frontline Plus is water resistant. After application, keep your pet from getting wet for 48 hours. If you want to apply after bath, ensure that your pet is completely dry before application. It remains effective for 30 days, even if your pet swims or is bathed.

Q. Can I apply it more than once a month?

A. Frontline Plus is a monthly treatment. Therefore, it is not advisable to apply the spot-on within a month. You can re-apply after 30 days.
